I keep picking up these 'gurista ship logs', but darned if I can find a use for them. I've tried going to the locations they point out, but I can't seem to ever find anything there.. am I doing something wrong?
They arent used anymore, they used to point to a spawn of NPCs of varying difficulty and value. They were the forerunner to complexes
Originally by: Akaran DeHawk I love my destroyer, but between how easy it is to rack up kills with it in missions and my new salvaging skill, I think I'll be able to upgrade again sooner rather than later. What should I save up and skill up for, as a Caldarian?
For now i would ignore the assault frigates, interdictors and interceptors, yes they are good, but they are expensive, and you dont get good insurance. A crow will cost you 15 - 20 million, you will get back, 1.5 million insurance tops.
Cruiser is the next step really, caracal is missiles, moa is guns. Caracal does very good in missions due to the always hit of missiles.
Originally by: Akaran DeHawk People have mentioned jumping into asteroid belts in low sec areas to find NPC pirates and the like. Are their drops better than the drops I can find doing security missions - and should I move into lower security areas to find missions, or just stay near Jptiv IV?
yes the loot is better from NPCs, also their bounties are higher, but the trade off is that in low sec, 0.4 and below, you can be attacked by players and CONCORD wont help you, so if you get caught in a belt, you can be killed, and podded.
Missions in low security offer higher rewards and higher Loyalty points per mission, but as above, you can be killed y players
In short, dont use a ship that you cannot afford to replace if you lose your current one.
Originally by: Akaran DeHawk Lastly, I guess, aside from npc hunting, PVPing and security missions, is there all that much else to do? If so.. where do I go find adventure?
PvP - never too young to start Mining Trading Complexes - These are like missions, but are static in space. They are best described as a dungeon with several levels, for each level you need a "key" to unlock the gate to get to the next stage. The final "boss" NPC is higher bounty than normal, and has a chance of dropping very valuable modules. They arent instanced though. So if someone gets to one first, you cant run it till it respawns. They are good fun to do, but can be frustrating finding one that hasnt already been run.
They range from 1/10 to 10/10 1/10 being easy, 10/10 being very very hard.
Eve is a sandbox, do what you want, you arent tied into anything, try things, see what you enjoy. -----------------------------------------------
